What Our Clients are Saying...

Can't tell you how great it made us feel knowing that she would be with you all night. We truly love bringing Koda to you and we know how much she loves it as well.

– Tricia

Oustanding customer service from Janene (owner) and the staff.  Expecially the only guy there.  My dog is tired from playing all day in the pool and with his buddies.  We are greeted with open arms and smiles every time we go.  place is always clean and organized.  Great work to all that work there.  I will never go anywhere else.

The Furshire and Janene have become part of our family.  We have been bringing our yellow lab, Koda to playgroup since she was 1 year old, 3 years ago.  We hated leaving her home during the day for 8-10 hours, so we found an alternative. She gets to go and play with the other dogs instead of being home alone.  While there I know that she is getting the best care possible. They love her as if she were their own dog.

When we get there in the morning instead of having a guilty feeling of leaving her home alone or dropping her off somewhere she doesn't want to be she goes running in and can't wait to get her morning rubdown from "Auntie", that is Janene the owner.  Now we know she is getting the exercise she needs and being loved at the same time.  She comes home exhausted everytime and gives us a chance to get things done ourselves.

Janene is maticulous about how she keeps her facility.  I have no doubt that Koda is in a safe and sanitary environment.  All of her staff are equally as dedicated to making sure the business is run the way Janene would expect it.  They are all friendly and excited to see Koda, as she is them.

I have and would continue to recommend The Furshire to anyone who had animals.  This is the place to go with your dogs, check it out and you would be pleasantly pleased.

To anyone who is concerned with leaving your furry friends at a "Pet Hotel":

FURSHIRE, Janine and her staff are the most amazing experience we have ever had while leaving our, Igi, Tito, Berto and Maiz-z.

The level of care and concern can only be measured by you when you leave and pick up your friend (s).

Our wonderful, Dr. Sink and Sonja suggested Furshire (at the time BowWow) and we have been so grateful.

Our first experience was over 8 months ago, when medical necessity for my parents required us to board.

We walked in and we were greeted by Janine a true professional, but a human heart as big as all of Texas, and within 15 minutes even our most releluctant Miss Maiz-z was wagging her tail and running and coming up to Janine.  This might not be so significant except for the fact Maiz-z had been with us about eight months when we first had to board all our hooter hounds.  Maiz-z is a rescue little girl and was still experiencing issues with us.  She was like the little frisky girl we always thought she could be, but had never seen.

I heard my husband, who is more reluctant to board than even me, tell Janine last visit, "This is the first experience with boarding that I can actually feel good about and not dread leaving them".

This "Pet Hotel" is a home-away-from-home to your furry friend Not a kennel.

The experience at FURSHIRE will NOT keep you from missing your loved one; but you will certainly sit back, relax and enjoy your time away.

Thank you FURSHIRE.

I have taken my dogs to Janene at The Furshire (it used to be called Bow Wow) for a number of years. It is by far the best boarding facility, with the most caring staff, I have ever seen. I've had dogs for 20 years and have always been concerned about leaving them when I travel. No more! Nicki and Dusty are well cared for and happy at The Furshire. One of my dogs has a fatal illness called megaesophagus. Not only did The Furshire staff discover the problem, but they take the time and the extra effort that is needed to care for him. I can't explain what a relief it is to know that both dogs will have a great time at Furshire and will be taken care of in a loving, healthy environment.

– Susan J., Scottsdale, AZ

My dog loves the furshire. She gets so excited to go and when she comes home from daycare she is so tired she just passes out. I love the workers everyone is nice and friendly. Prices are very reasonable and well worth it!!!!

– Jessica T., Phoenix, AZ

My husband and I have moved around quite a bit with his company and as a result have experienced MANY doggy daycare facilites and consider ourselves pretty knowledgeable about them. The Furshire is by far THE best!  The owner, Janene, has a very easy-going attitude. She knows all the dogs’ personalities, groups them accordingly and loves them like they are her own. If you'd like your dog to be kenneled for most of the day and let out every few hours for 20 minute "play" sessions than I suggest you take them somewhere else because at The Furshire they are treated as a family pet would be and they are free to play, play, play 'til they drop! As a side note, I am now a stay-at-home Mom and I still bring our dog for the socialization and extra exercise he gets at The Furshire! Thank you Janene and staff for loving Frankie as much as we do (almost)!!! ;o)

– Amy S., Peoria, AZ

I love this place!!!  It is absolutely the best!  I'm moving 25 miles away soon but will still make the extra effort to bring my dog to the Furshire!  The personnel are friendly and attentive, the place is clean, and the dogs leave exhausted and happy.  All I have to do is mention the place to my dog and he starts going crazy, jumping around and wagging his tail!  Before I met the folks at the Furshire I had looked at ten or so places to board my dog and day care twice a week.  None compare even the slightest to the love and attention they give my terrier.  I could not possibly rate them, or recommend them any higher!

– Y. D., Glendale, AZ

We have been bringing our dogs here for many years and this is the only place where we can board our dogs and they are just as happy as they are at home.  Janine takes the extra steps to make the dogs feel comfortable and happy.  The pricing is competitive.  The facilities are very clean considering this is where DOGS live and play!

Take the positive comments very seriously because we are very happy with The Furshire.  You will be too unless you think your dogs should have a room at the Waldorf Astoria.

If it tells you anything, we live in the North East Valley and this is quite the drive for me but my dogs deserve The Furshire!

– JC C., Phoenix, AZ

This place is the best thing that has ever happened for my dog.  I have been taking him to Furshire for two months and boarded the dog there for four nights a few weeks ago.  There are times that I pick him up at the end of the day and I swear the dog is smiling.  After the past few visits he has been reluctant to get back in my car at the end of the day.  The good part for me is that after being at doggie daycare for the day, he sleeps through the night.

The new location is not the address posted here.  Furshire is now located near 51st Ave and Greenway.

I absolutely LOVE The Furshire!! I first brought my dog Dixie for boarding almost 2 years ago after it was recommended by a friend and we both had a great experience. She loved it and came home happy and so did I! Since then I have added Tucker to my family and have been boarding them or bringing them for day care 1 or 2 days a week ever since.
The staff are friendly and really care about all the dogs, remember all their names and love to let me know all they have done during the day. I have had occasions where I have had to bring them earlier than the advertised hours and even board them overnight on short notice and they have accommodated me every time.
The prices for both daycare and boarding are extremely reasonable considering the one on one interaction the staff have with the dogs that I would probable pay double and still want to bring them.......and as for the dogs sleeping???? Number 1, they play ALL day and need a nap, and number 2, there is a snuggle room which my dogs just love curling up in after a hard days play and who could want more than that?? :-)

I LOVE this place!  My dogs have been coming here for a couple of years. The owners and staff are dog people and very knowledgeable and understanding about canine behaviors.  The playgroups are closely supervised. The most important things are: 1) my dogs LOVE going.  When they figure out where we're going, they get really excited and anxious to get out of the car and inside Furshire!  2) The dogs are happy and tired when I pick them up 3) Staff is kind and flexible. 4) Ability to pick the dogs up on a Sunday is HUGE for us. I miss my dogs when I am gone and I can't wait to pick them up the second I get back. Plus it saves me another day of boarding fees, and allows me to get back to a full day of work on Monday. Whether it's for daycare or boarding, I feel very much at ease when my dogs are at Furshire.

We've had our our dog board at The Furshire countless times (even at Bow Wow before the name was changed). She loves it there! The owner loves the doggies and takes such good care of them. She goes out of her way to make sure that all of the dogs are well taken care of and loved. I highly recommend The Furshire.

We have been taking our Beagle to The Furshire (formally Bow Wow Daycare) for over four years. Living in several states in the past our dog was in an out of kennels and we could always tell when he was not happy when we picked him up.
In talking to the owner you could tell that she cared about every ones pets more than anything. When we brought our dog in and got a tour of the place it was laid out with different rooms based on the animal size and their temperament, although they let the dogs roam free to play with each other. This is something that made us feel so much better since we hate having him in a cage. It is a dog care/kennel and like every other one we have boarded our Beagle in they all smell like a kennel, just as much as a dog grooming place smells like wet dogs. However, the Furshire was always being cleaned and attended to.

To give an example of how much they care and their flexibility we were about ready to leave on vacation and our dog had to have a tumor removed from his nose the day prior to us leaving. We called and explained that we had to cancel and the owner told us to still bring him and she would keep him separated in the office to rest up and took him home at night. How many other places would even do that? None that I have experienced.

Overall they have great staff, good rates and a clean facility and will always support them with our business.

My travel plans changed at the last minute and I ended up having to take my dog with me to Phoenix for a family reunion.  I was nervous boarding my dog who has separation anxiety issues.  I found the Furshire on the Internet and they had room to take my dog for a night.  When I dropped my dog off, I handed over a day's worth of food and said that she likely wouldn't eat any because she never does when I am away.

When I picked her up the next afternoon, my dog looked great, and to my surprise, she had eaten some of her food!  She even gave the owner kisses before we left which is unheard of for my dog.  It was so comforting to know that my dog had been in great hands.  I only wish The Furshire was in San Diego so I could take her there the next time I travel.  I would recommend this place to anyone looking to board their dog.

My dogs were 5 and 7 the first time I boarded them.  I always have someone stay home with them because I just couldn't bear to have my furbabies in cages!  The only time my dogs are in their "room" is at night.  The room is just that.  A room with a door and a toddler bed for them to sleep on.

The staff is so fun and friendly.  They genuinely adore dogs and animals!  My dogs are so excited to go there and literally don't want to leave!  I have boarded them there several times since then and will do it again every time I need to leave them!  I am very protective of my boys (and have actually cried to leave them in the past), but I am 100% comfortable and confident that my dogs are safe and loved at the Furshire:)

We recently went on a two-week trip to florida. Our last kennel experience (big chain, pet hotel kind of thing) was NOT so good, so I asked my wife to look into opportunities with private pet sitters.

I can't say enough good things about Bow Wow. Our Kerry Blue Terriers (2 of them) came home happy, obviously well cared for, and VERY tired. It was as if they hadn't missed us at all. Clearly, the staff had played with them regularly, given them plenty of exercise (Kerry's are high strung!), and much love and attention. They even learned a couple of new tricks!!

In addition, we have a large (mostly automated) salt-water reef tank, and Janene came to our home, learned (very quickly) the do's and don'ts (sp?), and came by our house every few days to check on it, add water, and generally make the house look lived in.

Our vacation went very well, and I credit Bow Wow with much of that opinion. We never had to worry, and knew that if anything went wrong, that they would have contacted us. Nothing in the house was disturbed, the tank was doing great, and most of all, our pups were well taken care of.

Oh, and the pricing was very reasonable! We had no complaints-- and the bill ended up being about 30% less than I had expected and budgeted for.

Thanks SO much Janene and Jessica (and all the others that I am sure played with our dogs!)- we'll be back time and time again- knowing our pets are safe and well cared for is the most important thing for us!

We recently boarded our two dogs at The Furshire while we were out of town for the week. The facility was very clean and homey. The dogs were free to play and roam around. They were very skilled at handling dogs and were really passionate their care and well being.

My dogs are very high strung and aren't used to being socialized with other animals. Upon returning, I was very pleased to find them happy and well adjusted. Since their stay they've become more sociable and are more apt to play with other dogs when we go to the dog park.

I wish I knew about this place a while ago before I boarded one of my dogs at Petsmart where they never let her out of the cage.  I compared prices and this place is on par with other facilities but the attention and care that our dogs received was worth more than we paid.

Knowing that our dogs had time to play and interact with other humans and dogs is the most important factor to us.  Them learning to be dogs again and being better behaved was just a bonus :)   We will be back to board them at The Furshire again.

I was visiting friends in AZ that boarded their dog at Bow Wow. I have a dog myself and have always been skeptical of doggy day care. We went there to pick up her dog and I was totally impressed with Bow Wow! The staff was friendly and welcomed us in. We were able to walk back into the rooms where the dogs are kept. It was very clean and the dogs all seemed comfortable and happy. They have a large indoor playroom, as well as three outside areas. There were about four dogs playing when we were there - they were loving it. The most impressive quality of Bow Wow is that the staff (and owner) TRULY love the dogs - constant hugging, kissing, loving and petting...it was so impressed and touched. It makes a difference to know that your pet is going to be smooched and loved when you're away. They even have a room where the dogs can sleep in bed with the staff...how cute! It's not the fanciest place...not one of those boutique dog hotels, but your dog will be loved like he/she is at home (maybe even more so!). My friend has been taking her dog here since she as a puppy (3 yrs) and she swears by them.

Thank you so much for taking good care of Shelby. We loved the Thanksgiving bandana which was adorable! She was so happy with her playgroup of little dogs--it was absolutely precious, wish I had my camera. (She even barked like a little dog for a bit after she came home--it was hilarious!) I'd never take her anywhere else. Shelby loves you and so do we!
